Musical Influences:
Pretty much anything with a horn section. I particularly like 70s funk :Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Tower of Power and Parliament but my guilty pleasure is 80s Power ballads with a good sax line! My heroes are Amy Winehouse, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald. Favourite sax players include John Coltrane, Dave Sanborn and Michael Brecker.
Previous / Current bands:
I have played with a variety of wind and jazz bands as well as smaller ensembles and in musical theatre bands. Bands include: South London Jazz Orchestra and Wind Band, a number of saxophone quartets, a nine piece funk band and six piece rock band whilst living in Turkey. Since moving back to Norfolk in 2019, I've played with Norwich group Saxology and currently play Baritone sax in a street band besides tenor in Steemy Dan
